In Japanese, Pollicipes pollicipes is called kame no te, turtle foot. The first time I ate some, I feares they were really that. In English, it’s also called Goose neck barnacle among other names. Pollicipes pollicipes is a crustacean living on rocky shores whiped with waves in European and North African Atlantic coasts.
Especially liked in Spain and Portugal, populations of this delicious animal are unfortunately decreasing in several areas, so it’s rare to find some on the market stalls. But if you come across some, don’t hesitate.
