“Nothing in the 20th district I see…”, my friend T* told me the other day about this web site. “Yeah that’s right, when do we eat some place close, dear neighbour?” We’re lucky to live in the 20th district, a nice but not so touristic Parisian district, and in areas like this restaurants have to be a little careful in terms of price or food quality, as they don’t have the continuous flow ot tourists passing by to fill in the place whatever they serve.
Anyway, a date was settled for a dinner at Le Papillon, the butterfly, restaurant which was recommended to be several times. We can go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just for a drink. It’s a trus neighborhood bistrot, with its typical bar. We chose the three course menu at 27€ (note that there is a 35€ option: three course plus kir, wine and coffee)
I started with a salmon whirl with cottage cheese and beetroot.
Dessert was fruity, fresh and very nice: a pineapple ravioly with a vanilla lemon curd. Exactly what I like to eat after a generous dinner.
(Yes, I didt’n take pictures of what everyone around the table was eating, I’m still a bit shy).
