About halfway between my office and my home, I however know quite little of that nice neighborhood. A little off the over-touristic Montmartre by the place du Tertre and a little above Pigalle, le Moulin Rouge and the chinese tourists buses, something is happening for the food lovers aroune rue Lepic, where cheese shop, fish shops and vegetable shops face gourmet grossery stores. A little above, Jeanne B is hiding. Jeanne B is not completely a restaurant, it’s also a grill room and caterer.
We’d like to sit in the terrasse and we are shown a micro table, because the mini tables are in case groups of three people come by. So we chose the mini table inside, which is prepared for two people. If you’re following, you know that it didn’t start very well. Fortunately the rest of the meal was better. We chose the two course menu (starter-main course).
The main course is a confit of sucker lamb, very tender, moistered with “home” juice (a veal reduction seasoned with zucchini, parsley and scallion), together with a ligthly seasones salad and a gratin dauphinois.
It may be because that kind of places is in right now, Jeanne B being also a gourmet grocery store, a caterer and a rotisserie, but I found the menu a bit expensive (25€ the two course meal for saturday lunch), even if it’s more reasonable during the week.
