A few years back, I only swore by Berthillon. A few years back, I didn’t like pistaccio ice creams. Then I discovered Grom.
Located with the student Odeon and the posh Saint Germain des prés Grom proposes a selection of Italian ice creams terribly addictive. For a reason, at Grom, they don’t skimp on the products quality: a strict selection of species and productions is made, and all is organic and seasonal. In addition, the fruit or chocolate share in the recipes are very generous, so when we chose a melon sorbet, it really seems that we are biting into a frozen, creamy melon, and when we chose the pistaccio ice cream, it’s just incredible.
In the hot summer days, queue may seem long, but service is organised so that long customers are neutralised, another reason for me to love Grom. How do they manage this? Three to four people are serving the cusromers, each of them cashing in then serving one clients order, letting the next employee to serve the next customer. So that when an undecided family happens, only one vendor is occupied and the rest of them still serve the people waiting.
